Nursing Student Volunteering in Indonesia

Hi

I am currently in year 2 of my nursing degree.
For my final year (next year) I have been given the opportunity to carry out one of my placements abroad.  The country I am hoping to go to is Yogyakarta in Indonesia.

The healthcare is expensive here, pain relief medication is minimal and patients often wait until their conditions worsen before seeking treatment.
Hospitals have a real lack of resources which makes treatment and care a lot harder.

Going over to this county I will get to work along side and help the nurses that already go to extreme lengths for patient care and treatment.
Having this opportunity over 4 weeks in October 2020 will increase my knowledge and understanding of nursing in a developing country. 

I’m hoping to raise money for this incredible experience.
The cost of this placement is £1890 and flights are around £600.  I will also be fitting in shifts between my time at university and placement to help fund this.
