Nursing Elective Placement In Tanzania

Hello, we are nursing students searching for help towards costs of a once in a lifetime opportunity! We are currently nearing the end of our second year as Children's Nursing students. As we go into our third year we have been given the amazing opportunity to part take in a 4 week overseas elective placement in Tanzania to care for vulnerable children and their families in both the hospital and the community setting. Many children and families within this geographic lack access to the same level of health care as we are so lucky to have here in the UK and therefore, any way in which we can help, we plan to do so! The hospitals are extremely busy, low-resourced and are often faced with global health issues first hand; high standard care and support is a luxury of a wealthier healthcare system and proves far more difficult to carry out in deprived and financially unstable countries. Not only will this be an incredible experience for us in expanding our knowledge and enhancing our practise, but will also enable us to contribute to the health and care of so many people within these deprived communities. As you can imagine student loan simply won't accommodate us in doing this, so..... this is where we are asking for absolutely any help anybody can give us, no matter the size in this incredible journey. Once again, this would be a phenomenal opportunity for us, and an experience that we will carry with us throughout our future Nursing Careers. We really hope you will be able to help us in some way and hear from you soon. Millie, Megan and Gaynor x London South Bank University BSc Hons Children's Nursing
