Maria Amparo Quiroa is 81 years old, is bed ridden, and has severe dementia, diabetes, peripheral artery disease, and many wounds on her left foot.


 


One year ago, Dona Amparo had to have much of her right leg amputated due to complications of diabetes and peripheral artery disease.



 


After surgery she was not eating or drinking much at all so she had to have a feeding tube placed. 


 


In early August, Dona Amparo had to be admitted to the hospital with a severe UTI, awful rash, and open wounds on her foot. 

 

Doctors recommended amputation of much of her left leg due to the infection from the wounds on her foot and lack of blood flow to her ankle and foot.



 


Now, Dona Amparo is in urgent need of quality nursing care and wound care at home in Shamong, New Jersey.



 


At this point, the family and insurance company have been looking for a nurse who will come to help the family to take care of Dona Amparo at her son’s home in Shamong, Burlington County, New Jersey. 



 


Nursing care and wound care are critical for Dona Amparo because while family is helping as much as they can, there are no family members who can stop working altogether and Dona Amparo requires a nurse who specializes in wound care and hospice.



 


In home nursing care ranges from $27 - $45 per hour, totaling over $5,000 per month.
