Nursery School in Tanzania

Donation protected
During a trip to Tanzania in 2016, we visited a small village where 3500 people were living with very limited resources. We were surprised to learn how the kind smiling people we met were living without running water, electricity or a proper hospital. While there, we visited the school which was located 2.5 km down a dirt road. 945 students walk barefoot on this road for 45 minutes each way each day in the heat to get to school. Once there, the students attend classes in 7 small bare rooms, with 135 kids per class. We met with the "chairman" of the village and asked him through a translator what kept him up at night with worry. He said that because the journey to school is difficult, most young children do not go. The chairman explained that the 4-6 year old kids do need to attend so that they begin to understand the value of their education and will want to continue attending school. After departing the village, we decided to work with our lodge, Ras Kutani, to build this village a one room cinder-block school kindergarten in the center of the village. With support from the Ras Kutani Foundation, we have begun work. Our donated $3000 has taken us far-- the cement foundation is built as are some of the walls. But, in order to complete the job, we need more money. For all of us in the USA who never had to worry about getting to school or starting our education at a young age, wont you consider helping us complete the project? It will help Tanzanian for decades to come, enriching their village life and creating a brighter future for the residents.
