Medical Mission to Guatemala

Donation protected
Hello friends!

As many of you may know, I have just started a new adventure at the University of San Diego. I am currently working hard to achieve my Masters in Nursing. It's been one of the most challenging yet rewarding experiences I've ever endured, AND it's just the beginning.

I have an incredible opportunity to further my nursing student experience by practicing my new skills in a community setting that is in deep need of health care and education. I have been accepted to this year's medical mission trip to Guatemala through the International Medical Relief organization along side the University of San Diego graduate nursing faculty in January.

During this week long medical mission, we will work with clinics located in the valleys where underserved medical populations reside. We will provide various medical services, education, and relief for the clinic and it's beautiful people.

As asking for money is one of the most uncomfortable things one can do, I couldn't feel more passionate for this particular cause to not ask for your help. Many of you know my crazy ADD brain and passion for giving back in any way, shape, or form. I feel as though I have finally found IT <-- that thing us millenials are all on the search for, our purpose (super clichè, but couldn't be more true). It's been a journey full of challenges, failures,  successes, but I feel so blessed to be right where I am now. The opportunity to incoporate my love for traveling, giving back to underserved populations, and continuing to challenge myself would mean absolutely everything to me.

Thank you to God, my family, all of my friends, colleagues, and instructors at USD, who have continued to support my crazy and goofy self. You all keep me going and never let me give up (even if my ideas are out of this world). I look forward to the many challenges and adventures that lie ahead. Thank you for helping me take the steps forward to achieve my goals of becoming the best nurse I can be.

All the best,

Saya Papaya <3
