Hi my name is Ann and I am working with Hug Me dog shelter in South Korea. They rescue, rehabilitate and rehome neglected animals and give them another chance at life.

Nuri was kept on a chain for some time at the side of the road when he was found by Hug Me Shelter. His leg was already injured and neglected for some time at this point. He may have been hit by a car or injured by people intentionally, it is hard to know.

The only option for Nuri in South Korea was amputation of the leg. However, a surgeon in Prague agreed to try and save the leg. Nuri is a big heavy dog, and amputation would cause other painful injuries to the remaining limbs. He currently suffers severe pain every day, but still finds it in his big heart to love life and everyone in it.

Nuri has found a home with a family in Prague. Sadly the surgeon in Prague on examining Nuri felt operation was too difficult.

Nuri’s new family refused to give up hope. They found a surgeon in Vienna who has agreed to perform the operation, however it is at a cost of €7000.

Nuri is a gentle , quiet, kind dog who is full of love and contentment, even though his life up until now has been hard, and is in constant pain.
