The family are overwhelmed by the support that they are getting from people. I am going to increase the target as it will only help them. Any monies left at the end will be donated to Clic Sargent a children's cancer charity who have been there for them.
This is Ella, she's 12 years old and was diagnosed with a brain tumor on Christmas Eve last year. The tumor was growing behind her eye and she had an operation to save her sight, which hasn't worked as of yet.
Ella has lost her sight in one eye and although the other eye is fine, she needs further treatment to prevent it damaging the other structures.
Sadly, although the tumor is currently stable, there's a chance it can grow further and the life saving operation she needs isn't available on the NHS...The tumor cannot be removed because of where it is, but Ella can be treated to ensure that it stops growing.
The proton beam treatment Ella needs is only available in America. The NHS have agreed to fund the treatment and to pay for 2 adults to accompany her but they need to go for 10 weeks.
Ella has a 3 year old sister, Summer, who has spent several weeks of her young life at Alder Hey herself..... The family need to pay for her to go with them. They also need to get passports for them all in order to get there.
They are due to fly within the next couple of weeks so family and friends are desperately trying to raise funds to pay for Summer to go with them and to help the family (who need to take 10 weeks off work for which they won't get full pay....They need to cover their housing costs, mortgage, rates etc in their absence as well as costs over in America).
We are unable to set up a Just Giving account because Ella is not a registered charity and there isn't time to go through the necessary administration process, hence this site instead!!
We're all trying to raise as much money as we can by organising cake sales, auctions etc but if anyone would like to make a financial contribution, any amount would be gratefully recieved.
All money will go towards helping this lovely family who truly are going through a horrendous time, any amount raised will relieve some of the stress they are going through, they shouldn't need to worry about the financial side of things, just getting Ella better and giving her the support she needs.
