Some of you may have heard of the flooding that occurred in certain areas of North Carolina recently that left thousands with water damage and without power. More specifically, residents of the Hiddenite Family Campground lost their entire homes/belongings and even their loved ones due to the flood.
There is no way for us to replace the family members that were lost but I would like to try and help raise money to go towards finding housing for them to start with. There are 6 families that are in need of new housing and approximately 30 people in total. Right now money for housing is the top priority but soon they will be needing funds (or clothing/food donations) to replace the belongings they lost as well. These people truly have nothing.
I know these are tough times for all of us as the future is uncertain due to COVID, but imagine losing everything you had and having to start over while trying to grieve the loss of a loved one. So, with the holiday season upon us, I encourage anyone who is able to PLEASE donate whatever you can to go towards helping these families get back on their feet.
I made the goal of this fundraiser $5,000 to start with as money will go quickly trying to restore what 30 people have lost. I am hoping we can go above and beyond this goal but I realize these are tough times for everyone. Honestly, whatever we raise will be amazing and greatly appreciated. If you are in the giving spirit and are looking to lend a helping hand this holiday season, please donate whatever you can.
God bless you all,
