Help Bruce Fight Cancer

Hi, my name is Tammy and I'm raising money to help Bruce fight cancer.
Bruce and Cindy Mavis are long-time residents of Seward. Bruce is a trucker for Farmer’s Oil out of Anthony, Kansas. Cindy has been an accompanist in the community for many years, playing for Seward High School, the Goehner Melodrama, King’s Players melodrama, and the Missoula Children’s Theater. She taught piano for several years, and has directed the KiTones, the St. John Singers and Joyfully Sing. (Bruce sang in the KiTones - that's how they met.) She currently works for Second Closet.
Bruce was diagnosed on May 12 with adenocarcinoma, cancer of the esophagus. The cancer has also spread to his stomach. He has been hospitalized 3 times since May to stabilize him for treatment. He has a feeding tube to help him meet his daily calorie goal, as the size of the tumor makes swallowing difficult. He will begin chemo on June 13, going every other week through July. He will also undergo daily radiation treatments for that same time period. After a 4-week break, he is facing major surgery in August to remove the lower 2/3 of his esophagus and the upper 1/3 of his stomach.
Bruce is not able to work at this time, and his recovery after surgery in August will be long. The family will need help with medical bills, with gas expenses from daily trips to Lincoln, and with general living expenses until Bruce is able to work again. Any assistance is deeply appreciated. Thank you!
