I am a junior at Design Tech High School and have recently been offered a huge opportunity to volunteer in Dharamsala, India for ten days with twelve other students from my school. While I am there we will be helping Tibetan refugees improve their english, volunteer with teaching and other services at Nyingtob Ling ( a Tibetan special needs school), and do important work to improve sanitation. It is not glamorous work to build pit toilets but it is critical for the health and well being of the locals and I am very happy to be able to help. When not occupied by service work we will be learning about Buddhism and participating in cultural activities. At this pivotal point in my life, I believe an empowering trip like this with my peers will help me discover who I want to be.
The donation money will go towards the flights and accommodations while I am there. I have to raise $1500 by November 30th and $1800 by January 1st. My goal is to raise the total $3500 by the end of this year so I can go on this trip in March of 2018.
I want to start making a difference in the world and help others. This trip really speaks to me because of this and by seeing the world through a different lense I believe I can inspire others to follow this path of spreading positive change. Please help me make this happen by donating anything you can. I greatly appreciate any contribution, thank you!
