Relief Supplies For Puerto Rico

Donation protected
UPDATE#3: We have reached our next monetary goal and will be jumping in the lake and eating the world's hottest chip. In the meantime, we are still accepting donations. We are sending supplies and money directly to La Casa De Todos as well as supplies and money to Carlos Tirado who is still delivering water filters, food, medicine, supplies and support across Puerto Rico every day. The more money we raise the more money we put back into Puerto Rico. More details to follow about our next trip. Thank you to everyone who has supported and donated to the people of Puerto Rico.

UPDATE #2: Danielle and Jeremy are headed back to Puerto Rico to meet up with Carlos and work on another round of support for Puerto Rico.

In order to raise the money we need to help with the projects below we need to raise $10,000. If we raise $5,000, Jeremy will eat the "Paqui Carolina Reaper Madness One Chip Challenge Tortilla Chip". And yes it will be filmed. If we raise $10,000, Danielle will jump in Lake Michigan, which is currently 34 degrees.

Below are the proejcts we will be working on. Please donate if you can. All money will go directly to supplies, food, water, solar, farming, medicine for the people of Puerto Rico. There are still 450,000 people that have been without electricity since Maria.

We will be working on some ecofarming projects in Santurce at their community center, as well as some light construction and solar projects. We will be taking what we do in Santurce to help La Casa De Todos orphanage in Juncos.  Our end goal is to spread eco farming around the island to with self sufficiency.

We will also start the project to build a skate park within in Santurce on the same block as the cultural center.

We will be traveling through the mountain towns with our friend Hector in Barrinquitas to deliver food and supplies to those in need. Hot meals will be provided by local restaurants that need the business. We want to make sure that as much money stays in the towns we are helping.

Basically if we see anyone that needs help, whether it be food, light construction, supplies, medical help, we will be helping.

UPDATE: La Casa de Todos is an orphanage in Juncos, Puerto Rico we visited in October. It is run by Sor Carmen Carmona, an amazing woman who opend the orphanage in 1980.  The children at La Casa de Todos kept jumping in our arms and giving us hugs thinking we were there to potentially adopt them. These are kids that have been removed from their homes because of bad situations. They are running out of money and in danger of closing. They need cash to pay employees or they will close. They had to sell a generator just to stay open. The government owes them money, but all that has been delayed. Five employees lost their entire homes. They need money. They need serious construction. Part of their roof is gone and they have no electricity or water. The garbage hasn't been picked up in over two weeks. When we started this fundraiser we knew we wanted to help as many people as possible, but after visiting with Sor Carmen and the children and the staff, we quickly realized this is where we were needed most. We will be sending down a crew of people and supplies to help rebuild and repair La Casa de Todos in early December and your donations will help make this happen. Thank you to everyone who has donated.

This "go fund me" account is set up in support of the harder to reach areas of Puerto Rico. Donations will be used to purchase supplies and transportation to deliver them to our friend Carlos in Puerto Rico. Carlos has and will be distributing items directly to orphanages, nursing homes, and others in immediate need. As we can clearly see, San Juan is getting aid first, ( Which is great!), however the rest of the Island is struggling in extreme, life threatening  conditions, with little to no aid at all. I am hearing from my friends that bugs, rats, dead animal carcasses, unsafe drinking water, extreme lack of food and electricity, dehydration, infection, mosquito borne diseases, and critical illness are the major issues. Food without the need for refrigeration, water or heat is necessary. We are  seeking funds to purchase the following items for multiple emergency supply deliveries:

Water purification tablets
Mosquito spray
Mosquito dunks
Batteries AA, AAA, C, D (especially D batteries)
Solar-powered phone chargers
Hand crank generators with radio and cell charger
Head lamps
adult diapers
infant diapers
Formula
Tuna, salmon, chicken (in pouches)
Peanut butter
Protein bars (preferably no chocolate)
Dried fruit
Tampons
Menstrual pads
Mosquito spray
Water filters
First Aid Supplies
vegetable, fruit seeds (weather appropriate)
etc...

We will be delivering these items to people in Puerto Rico that can get them directly into the hands of people who need them.

Thank you,

Danielle Colby & Jeremy Scheuch
