Diallo Brinson's Medical and Funeral Expenses

Diallo Brinson was a vibrant, brilliant, magnetic 15 year-old young man who was taken too soon due to an allergic reaction from peanuts.  This senseless loss has impacted all that knew him, and left his family with substantial medical and funeral expenses.  This site was established by friends to help the family who was uninsured and in great need of assistance!

On May 12, 2012, Diallo was celebrating his soccer team's Georgia State Championship U-16 Soccer semi-final win.  His team is named "Arsenal," and each one of the boys loved Diallo!  He was a "Striker" - one who went for the goal - just as he did in life.  Diallo was a true leader on the team.  He wrote on an application, "Playing team sports teaches me to listen to my coaches and be a great team member."   That he was! 

Diallo consumed a cookie that he did not know contained a peanut and collapsed immediately, unable to breathe.  He was hospitalized for two days and never regained consciousness.   

Diallo was a gifted, talented and was the joy of his family - loved by his parents and idolized by his 11 year-old younger brother, Sharif. 

He was declared brain dead on May 14th, the day after Mother's Day. 

Diallo was a very active member of Jack and Jill for 7 years and received national awards for his speaking prowess.  He recently won the Southeast Region Ann Owens-Gordon Oratorical Contest in the 13-15 year old category on behalf of the Macon Chapter of Jack and Jill.  He won every oratoracle contest that he entered except for one!  Recognized as a leader, Diallo served as a conference page in 2010 was recently selected to be a member of the Jack and Jill Teen Advisory Board, and the first Peer Team Leader group for Teen Conference 2012.

Diallo was also very athletic.  He earned a Black Belt in Taekwondo at the age of 10 and not only played soccer, but referreed as well.  He served as a trainer and co-coach for his little brother's soccer team, "The Unknowns," and planned to reduce his referee responsibilities so he could be the primary coach next year.

Diallo was a freshman on the honor roll at Central High in Macon, Georgia and a member of the Senior Council in student government.  He was President of the Jr. Beta Club and loved acting as a theatre major in the his school's fine arts magnet program.  Diallo was a member of the Black History Club and loved learning.  He was well known and respected as a mentor and a friend.  He will be missed!

Just as he gave in life, Diallo's strength has been shared via organ donation with 4 other families in need.  His heart is in Kansas, beating for another 15 year-old, and the family is happy that good could come from this trajedy.

All donations will go directly to paying Diallo's medical and funeral expenses.  His Mother, Dr. Larmia Robbins-Brinson was a graduate of FAMU.  Diallo attended Homecoming last year...he was a Future Rattler!
