Leslie @ Kid’s Club

Leslie Spitzenberg, beloved children’s hairstylist at Kid’s Club, was recently diagnosed with Stage 1 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma HER2+ Breast Cancer. It has not spread to her lymph nodes, however, her doctors have decided on the following course of treatment: Chemotherapy for 4-5 months, 3 days of treatment every 21 days. Their hope is that the chemo will shrink the growth, and they can schedule her mastectomy at that time. Recovery from this surgery should be 4-6 weeks, and then additional testing after recovery will determine if more chemo or radiation is necessary. 

The doctors have told her that it is imperative that she stay healthy during this time. Being a kids’ hair stylist requires being around kids all day, and germs are rampant. She has decided with a heavy heart that working will only interfere with her treatment. She expects to be unemployed for approximately 8 months. 

As you can imagine, the financial toll of her absence will affect her family’s situation greatly. She has touched many lives and has built a friendship with many parents and kids. They have become family to each other, some having been with her since they were babies. 

We have set up this fund to help show her the love we all feel in our hearts for her, wanting to do our share in helping her during this difficult time.
