杨昭杰，美国康涅狄格大学金融风险管理系2016级硕士研究生，成绩优异，将于2018年5月毕业，但2017年10月13日在校园附近游泳馆不幸溺水。经史丹福医院急救，后又紧急转哥伦比亚大学医院中心救治。
Zhaojie Yang, an excellent graduate student of FRM program at University of Connecticut, who nearly drowned at a YMCA pool near the UCONN on Oct.13 2017 was supposed to graduate in May 2018. After the accident, he was immediately transported to Stamford Hospital and then transferred to the hospital of Columbia New York Presbyterian for further management.
溺水导致大脑缺氧时间太长，昭杰的脑部、心肺和肾均严重受损。是他顽强的生命力的坚持，是医护人员不抛弃不放弃的积极治疗，是他在美生活学习的同学朋友在他耳边不断的鼓励，是他的父母日夜在他身边的呼唤，昭杰目前心脏、肺和肾都已恢复功能。
Zhaojie was left with severe damages in brain, lung and kidney from long time lack of oxygen flow, however, he did not give up. Treated by experienced doctors and encouraged by his parents and friends, he was recovering.
但由于脑部神经受损严重，目前仍处于昏迷状态，靠呼吸机呼吸和胃管进食，并伴有发烧、呕吐和神经痛等症状，现仍在哥大医院接受治疗，一般脑损伤患者治疗需较长一段时间，康复将更是一个很漫长的过程。
But because of serious hypoxic-ischemic brain damage, Zhaojie, still in a coma, clings tenaciously to life by breathing machine and stomach tube while suffers from fever, emesis and neuralgia in Columbia New York Presbyterian. It would be an extremely long period of time for him, the cerebral injury patient, to make a recovery.
他是家里唯一的孩子，爱好广泛，喜欢摄影和运动健身，乒乓球名列FRM项目四强。这个为人诚实、阳光可爱、正直善良的男孩，乐于助人，生活中爱心和孝心是他成长的动力，他正准备毕业后踏上人生新征程，回报家庭，回报社会。可惜世事无常，突然遭遇如此重大变故，令父母家人和同学朋友莫不伤悲。入院至今，他的父母整日以泪洗面，夜不能寐，身心疲惫。
Zhaojie, the integrity and warm-hearted boy, is the only child in his family. He was a big fan of photography and sports. Also, he was one of the top four ping-pong players in the UCONN FRM program. He was preparing to step on a new journey of life and to give back to family and society, but the sudden incident disturbed all. His friends and family all felt sorrow about him. Since he was hospitalized, his parents have cried every day and even couldn’t sleep at night.
昭杰的医疗保险已于2017年11月11日到期，目前无法申请到康复保险。而且由于昭杰是学生身份，不能享受本地公民的康复治疗和长期照顾服务。昭杰的父母都是普通工薪阶层，家里的积蓄基本都用来资助昭杰来美国读书，现无法承担后期漫长的治疗和康复费用。
Zhaojie’s medical insurance has been expired since Nov.11 2017, and he can’t apply for the further insurance. As he is a Chinese student, not an American citizen, he can’t enjoy the rehabilitation service. Besides, his parents are just ordinary wage-earners, and Zhaojie’s tuition in America has run out of all the savings, so they cannot bear the following cost.
恳请广大热心人士在他们身处绝境时伸出援手，帮助昭杰顺利接受康复治疗，让一个青春阳光男孩的生命得以拯救，用爱心为这个家庭撑起一份希望。
Let’s pray for Zhaojie and lend a helping hand to his family. The only way for this young man to recover is to receive rehabilitation treatment, and we just hope that our effort will make it come true.
