Hello fellow friends, family and peers,
Our School has placed first in the All European Culinary State Championships qualifying us for the yearly ProStart National Competition, located in Anaheim, California. Our school has strived for many years to achieve this goal, and finally succeeded for the first time ever. With this great opportunity comes the potential of attending the most prestigious culinary experience at the high school level. Not only will this competition help us learn the Culinary Arts but it will also instill a life-long passion that drives them to reach for the highest goals. Along with this comes an opportunity for large scholarships to some of the most prestigious culinary schools worldwide. The art of culinary teaches kids more than just cooking, it also provides them with lifelong skills such as creativity, teamwork, communication, collaboration, critical thinking, adaptability, accessing and analyzing information, imagination, and entrepreneurship that can be used not only in the kitchen but also in any life situation.
But we need your help! Because all of these great opportunities come at a high price and being military children, unlike all other stateside students, causes us to be ineligible for sponsorships and donations from private organizations. This makes it much more difficult to raise funds for our team. With a few exceptions from other local government organizations we have no one to reach out to for financial aid. What we ask of you is any financial contribution to enable us to take part in this life changing experience. We need to transport our team, which consists of eight students and two chaperones, as well as a large amount of cooking and cleaning equipment, funding for lodging, food, and uniforms. The total amount we are aiming to fundraise is $16,000. All these funds must be in by April 1st.With your help we can achieve what no other European Team has ever done.
