On Thursday, August 17, 2017, our Granny, Linda Ann Parker, was diagnosed with advanced-stage Peripheral T-Cell Lymphoma. Given the choice, Granny has decided to fight it, determined to stick around for the family she and her husband of 54 years, Philip (better known as Papa), worked so hard to build.
The rigid chemo treatment she must endure to fight this invasive disease is not only exhausting and scary, but unbelievably expensive. The chemotherapy, insurance costs, and other travel expenses are already adding up. Granny and Papa are in high hopes and ready to tackle this obstacle head-on, but will need all the assistance they can get, be it donations or prayers, both of which are immensely appreciated and powerful.
Our family is a strong one, built on even stronger values. We never let anything get in our way, and if we ever encounter a conflict we deal with it with a swift kick in the rear. I believe a great deal of the perseverance, strength, and dignity we possess comes from Granny - she is a natural redhead, after all! We believe her strong-willed personality and the love and prayers of friends and family will help her get through this. All Granny and Papa need is a TON of help.
