The frackers want to frack the Territory. Territorians want to ban fracking. Our Water Our Life. The mighty Roper River pictured is year round drinking water for humans and animals.
NT Baseline Testing has started an independent baseline testing program in the Roper River Region or what the Frackers are calling "The Beetaloo Basin". We have the jump on the frackers but we need funds to complete our testing program we started last year.
Next round of Testing planned this dry season 2018
Cost will be around $20,000 as expert science and lab work do not come cheap and the field work is very demanding due to distance.
To put this into perspective NTG is handing $30 million to the frackers to baseline test themselves WHILE THEY DRILL. NTG funding for independent baseline testing for landholders $ZERO. Domestic and stock bores are excluded from this so called baseline testing. This is the opposite of what landholders and scientists have been calling for.
This is what we are up against. We are fighting for our lives and we are running out of time as the NTG has lifted the moratorium.
We have put together a great team of scientists, students and local landowners. The science is accredited and the results are landholder owned thus will stand up in court under Australian Law.
Please Help us stop this travesty of justice and help Territorians Protect their water. Protect one of the last wild places left on earth.
