Passed away 11-3-17 Early Friday Morning
After Battling Esophageal Cancer Much longer then he let on.
Mac worked at Belaire Trailer Park 35years
No medical insurance, No pension, Not even a gold plated watch & he still loved that place, but that doesn't change the fact that he refused to go to the doctor because he didn't want to cause a burden to his family knowing they couldn't afford it. His greatest concern was a lien being put on there home. Ultimately he had no choice but to go to the hospital, and just as he feared the bills have piled up, all the medicine & supplies needed had to come out of pocket. To top it off, by the time he finally went to the ER (by that point he couldn't even swallow water) the poor guy was so malnourished he was not able to gain any weight to be able to receive chemo, not even after receiving a stent to open his esophagus, followed by placement of a feeding tube...
Mac was beyond a giving man, always willing to lend a hand to help others, he contributed to every benefit. The stack of Thank you letters found from so many churches & charitable organizations that was sent to this man for each year, from a man who lived paycheck to paycheck, literally astounded his family. Now is our time to ease some of there burden...
