Aaliyah's Medical Leadership Conference

Donation protected

This is our daughter, Aaliyah Cooper. She is an 11th grade Honors Student at Georgia Cyber Academy based in Atlanta, Georgia. We are extremely proud of Aaliyah and her accomplishments, both personally and academically. We started this campaign because we believe in her and want to do all we can to help her achieve her goal of becoming a medical doctor. Thank you for viewing the above presentation vidoe with more detailed information about Aaliyah and the program, reviewing Aaliyah's request below, and your consideration in donating any small or large amount towards her goal. ~Joseph and Althea Cooper

PURPOSE
I have been selected to attend the National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC) on Medicine and Health Care at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. This prestigious program selects outstanding high school students from around the world to participate based on academic excellence, extracurricular involvement, and demonstrated leadership potential. It is an honor to be selected to attend the NSLC, and I am extremely excited about this opportunity. I am writing to request your financial support, which will enable me to attend the Conference. For more information regarding the NSLC, please visit their website at: http://www.nslcleaders.org

THE MEDICAL AND HEALTH CARE PROGRAM
At the NSLC, I will have the opportunity to participate in leadership development workshops where I will develop skills including effective communication, public speaking, and conflict resolution. In addition, I will participate in lectures and workshops that will provide a better understanding of clinical skills, such as suturing, surgical knot-tying, and patient care and diagnosis. The goal is to gain an insider's perspective on a future career in healthcare, which will better prepare me for college. I will attend briefings and participate in forum discussions led by National and World leaders in my chosen field. In recent years, NSLC students have met with Secretary of Education Rod Paige; Surgeon General Richard Carmona; Supreme Court Justices Sandra Day O'Connor, David Souter, and Anthony Kennedy; as well as many Senators, Representatives, and Ambassadors. For detailed information regarding the Medical and Health Care Program, please visit the NSLC website:

MY GOAL
The cost for me to attend the conference will be $4,375.00. This includes the program, room and board, course materials, program activities, travel to the conference and money for other incidental expenses. Unfortunately my family cannot afford the entire amount; therefore, I am requesting your assistance. So far, I have raised $385.00, but I still need to raise an additional $3,990.00.

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP
Your financial support in any amount will make a big difference in helping me attend the NSLC. You can also help by sharing the link to my campaign with your contacts via Email, Facebook, Twitter, Google+, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Pinterest, or any social media profiles and blogs (see share options below). If you prefer not to use this private and secure online method, you can send your donation directly to the NSLC. Please send a check payable to the "National Student Leadership Foundation.", and write "Aaliyah Cooper" on the "Memo" line of the check, to: National Student Leadership Foundation; 320 West Ohio Street; Suite 4W; Chicago, Ill; 60654-6566.
