Kyle's Krew (Kyle Lecuyer)

Hello Kyle Lovers!
In October of 2011, Kyle Lecuyer was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He was just 3 years old and about to become a big brother. Despite many ups and downs, intense chemotherapy treatments, and eventually a stem cell transplant, Kyle fought hard and strong and came out a hero to us all.  A survivor, not a victim, of this dreaded disease.  He missed his first year of school and endured more than most of us will go through in our entire lives.  His parents and grandparents stayed by his side and became a family of super heros, going through what most of us could never imagine, remaining strong for Kyle's sake.
After Kyle's transplant, he went into remission. He was able to start school, and despite some long-term effects of his past cancer treatments, he became stronger and stronger every day. He loves socializing with his friends and the staff at school, and makes it very easy to be captivated by his big blue eyes.
Kyle has had to return to Sick Kids Hospital every 3 months to meet up with his doctors and to have routine bloodwork done to make sure he is still doing well.  It was after one of these recent appointments that they found out Kyle's blood work was irregular. Although they had already returned home and thought everything was ok, they received a phone call the next day informing them that they must return right away for further testing and a blood transfusion.
Upon returning to Sick Kids and after a lumbar puncture, they were told that Kyle had 70% leukemia cells in his bone marrow.  Kyle must now go to Philadelphia to receive an experimental treatment that will cost a substancial amount of money and may not be covered by OHIP.  In the meantime, his family has had to leave their hometown, family (including their youngest son), and their jobs to once again be by Kyle's side.  Although we wish to be able to take away their pain and sadness, we CAN help by alieviating the financial burden that goes along with their dreadful situation. We would like to thank each and every one of you who donates. Please know that your generosity will play a critical role in delivering Kyle with the treatment he needs and deserves, and will help get our little dude and his family back on the road to recovery.
Sincerest Regards,
Kyle's Krew
