Since, we recieved a single large donation, we would still like to accept donations from the rest of campus. Further donations will go towards a ceremony for the squirrel sometime in May, a more intricate taxidermy job, and potentially a casing in which the squirrel would reside.

Monday, March 20th 2017, was a terrible day for the University of Houston Campus. On this day, news spread that the beloved white-nosed and white-tailed squirrel that graced our campus had passed away. For years, this beautiful squirrel improved campus morale and positively impacted students with its snowy tail . Over time, the squirrel became a legend, and students were delighted when they spotted it, hoping for good luck before a midterm.
The thought of future coogs not being able to see this salacious squirrel has weighed heavy on the hearts of all students. In order to share the elegance of the white squirrel, we ask that you donate money to help us preserve it's legacy. We have made inquries to local taxidermists, and a quote we feel comfortable with asks for $550 to stuff the squirrel by the end of this semester. We want the work finished by May, so our students can recieve closure from this heart-aching loss.
The taxidermist who will be preserving the squirrel will be Taxidermy The Best. The base price is $375, but we asked for a rushed order that will ensure the squirrel is done in before finals and graduation. The rushed order increased the price to $475. After tax, this comes out to around $515.
We aren't sure where the white tailed squirrel will live after being preserved, but we'll figure that out somewhere further down the road.
We strongly encourage you to donate what you can to this cause. The money raised will go towards ensuring future students will get to experience the wonderful white-tailed squirrel just like we have.
