Alexa's Road to Recovery

Our dear friends Lisa & Maurice's daughter, Alexa, was the victim of a tragic accident. She was struck by an SUV at full speed while crossing the street and suffered severe and life-threatening injuries to her brain and body. Though she miraculously survived, she was airlifted to the nearest trauma center and was in a coma. She is conscious now but her brain and physical injuries are substantial. Her road to recovery is long but Alexa is strong.

Your help is needed! The most important things Alexa’s family wishes for are your love and prayers, as they know that this support has and will continue to help them through such an unimaginable tragedy and the vast challenges that lie ahead. While they focus on this early stage of recovery, we know everyone is asking how they can help. The road to recovery will be long and include hundreds of thousands of dollars of healthcare and rehabilitation costs as Alexa will need to re-learn everything we all take for granted every day.

Alexa was looking forward to finishing her senior year of college and had spent the summer working with children, getting experience that would help her in her anticipated teaching career. The dreams and bright future of this incredible young woman have come to a screeching halt.

The outpouring of love for Alexa and her family has been carrying them through the darkest time of their lives. This is a family that is constantly giving, would do anything for anyone, and is known for their kindness and generosity. We know so many of you are eager to help and we have set up this GoFundMe account (with their permission). Let’s all do what we can to help this amazing family. We do not know what the future holds for Alexa and her family, but we are all very much aware that a tragedy of this magnitude leads to overwhelming financial burdens.
