Hey everyone!!! To begin I'd like to say THEY DID NOT WANT ME TO DO THIS.. at first I did not have their blessing in doing this.. (They are ok with it now tho)BUT.. I CANNOT sit by watching them get hit so hard with all of these burdens and NOT HELP! WE have been there and I KNOW that we have COUNTLESS friends that are in multiple states that are WANTING to help them in ANY WAY possible... THIS I KNOW is the best way you can help right now!
The dr has diagnosed Michael with TTP. He has a history of that in his family. They've begun treatments for TTP already. It is a very serious and can be life threatening condition. Thankfully, the dr said they got him there in time for treatment. He's at 97-98% chance of full recovery. The treatment process for TTP is long and he has to be in the hospital for it. God has kept His hand on Michael and he got here in time to treat it. They've said he could be there a month.. maybe more.. this is an update last night from Katrina that's not so good: "UPDATE: Michael's blood levels have continued to drop, so he will be requiring at least one (most likely more) blood transfusion. His platelets have also dropped from 23 yesterday to 20 just now, even with his plasmapheresis treatment. We are both physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually exhausted. Please just keep us in your prayers. Mainly him because he's the one in the hospital bed, but reality is, we are both struggling in every aspect of our lives. We need God to intervene and do what man cannot do. ❤️" They are supposed to be at 150,000 if I'm correct. They were at 7 when he got to the hospital. Had he got to the hospital just 15 minutes later he could've been dead! God is a miracle worker! Now.. Katrina also is a major fighter.. she is battling health issues that are mind boggling. She's seen about ever dr in Memphis and was referred out to vanderbilt and even Vandy can't seem to figure her out.. they're talking about referring her to Mayo or Cleveland clinics for further research. She's not doing well and losing MASSIVE amounts of weight do to malabsorption and other issues.. she needs a major healing and more than anything a diagnosis. As you could imagine all of this has caused them BOTH to miss insane amounts of work. A devastating amount of work. And I know personally one of Katrina's meds alone are over $400 a month. She's not leaving Michaels side and is taking care of him.. and when he leaves the hospital she will have to care for him for about 6-8 weeks.. BEFORE he can return to work. THIS FAMILY NEEDS US TO SHOWER THEM WITH FINANCIAL BLESSINGS! $1 from 1,000 people is $1,000.. donthe math! Don't feel badly about not giving much.. they will appreciate ANYTHING!! They need financial, prayer, encouraging, loving.. SUPPORT! Be there for them! ALSO.. you can go to lifeblood and donate just platelates or blood to him.. no matter what blood type!
