Randy Roux's Medical Fund

On February 22, 2015 my Dad, Randy Roux suffered a massive stroke.  He was airlifted from KSB to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL where he was admitted to the Neuro ICU Stroke Center.  He underwent multiple CT scans before they determined that the stroke was cause by an occluded left carotid artery.  The stroke affected multiple areas of the left side of his brain that left him nonverbal and with some weakness on his right side.  After an angiogram that was done on Monday, February 23, 2015 the neuro-vascular surgeons decided to proceed with surgery that came with many risks, but also a lot of hope.  The surgery was successful and they were able to restore blood flow to the left side of his brain with no major complications.  He spent 5 days in the Neuro ICU before he was moved to a Neuro stepdown unit for 3 days before he was abruptly discharged from the hospital on Monday, March 2 with very little rehabilitation.  At this point he is unable to be left at home alone and is going to need extensive outpatient speech and physical therapy.  Although he does have insurance, the uncovered expenses are piling up and are continuing to accrue and this is just the beginning for him.  My hopes are to raise as much as I can to help with some of these costs and to help ease some of this burden.  My family is truly grateful for everyone that has sent thoughts, prayers, words of encouragement, texts, and phone calls.  Thank you everyone in advance. ~Andrea~
