New Directions, Seafood Street Food

It's time for a new direction!

For those of you that know me I am(was) a web developer/programmer and have been for pretty much all my life.
My life has revolved around computers and creating the best web sites on the net!
I have been heavily invested in Non-Profit organisations such as As Green as it Gets in Guatemala, Cojolya.org, fundraisingcouncil.com, yepp-community.org as well as many others, and I never actually thought before of doing fundraising for myself!

A few of weeks ago I had a bit of a shocker and my programming/web design life has come to a stop.

I was diagnosed with Ocular Epilepsy and possible MS with some lesions found in my brain which basically mean I have to stop looking at computer/television screens for an extended period of time.

SO! As I have never been one to let life's hurdles stop me, it is time for a new direction and new career path!

As many of you know I am extremely passionate about food  so I have decided to put these talents to work, starting out to get together the money for a small food truck in which i can sell Seafood Streetfood!

I intend to produce top quality street food made with locally sourced produce and frequenting as many festivals and events as i can muster in the UK!

With that money that I earn through the season - I am hoping eventually a small Scottish cafe/restaurant in Germany where i live.

With me having to close down my web design business, this has meant I have lost all my residual income, as well as several projects which were in process - so unfortunately most of the cash to setup has gone.

I am looking to purchase a cheap catering van in the UK which will cost in the region of 5-6k plus the necessary stock/insurances etc to get round the first few festivals.

Our menu will consist of specialty fish & Scottish Seafood Products with a rotating menu.

Here are just a few thing of the things we will have on the truck to get your mouth watering...and let you know, this is not your average food truck.

Traditional cullen skink
Full-flavoured, hearty, and comfortingly creamy, it's just the thing to warm your cockles after a hard day's work on the Moray Firth or bookying at a festival!

Fish Tacos
Feet in the warm sand, a cold cerveza in your hand and a couple of fish tacos from the dilapidated stand at the edge of the beach.
Pieces of white fish are fried in a corn meal crust and topped with spicy jalapeno cream and crunchy slaw. Serve with black beans and Mexican rice.

Scottish Style Fish Cakes
A fish cake to savour. Served with tartare sauce, tomato sauce, parsley sauce or hollandaise sauce, along with lemon wedges, coleslaw, fries and a fresh salad.

Prawns in Whisky Cream Sauce
This light bite dish includes Creamy prawns with a hint of whisky, server on a bed of garden salad a simple and sophisticated starter.

Smoked Salmon and Haddock Pots
This recipes combines two of the best fish, which can be found in Scottish waters. Fine Scottish salmon and of course the stunning Arbroath Smokies

and of course the traditional

Fish & Chips
Crispy on the outside, tender and delicious on the inside. Cold-water white fish fillets, hand-dipped in a light beer batter and golden fried. Served with fries, cole slaw and tartar sauce.

If you can help me start this new venture, it will be much appreciated and various gifts for any that can help!
