Nova Nurses Dominican Republic Trip

Donation protected
On February 28th, 2015, the Villanova University College of Nursing  will send a group of its talented students and faculty to Quisqueya, Dominican Republic to deliver obstetric and pediatric care and teaching to the local community. We're excited to share our knowledge and passion for nursing with the peoples of the batey communities in this part of the Dominican Republic, and to walk with them and learn from their diverse culture and way of life.

The peoples of the batey communities in Quisqueya have extremely limited access to healthcare. Multiple drug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB), HIV/AIDS, and STDs such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis persist in homes where adequate medical attention can do a lot to eliminate and prevent them. Additionally, many women do not receive the prenatal care any financial preparation they need to deliver their children safely.

Funds donated to the Nova Nurses Dominican Republic Trip this spring will allow us to purchase medications, sterile supplies, new equipment, teaching models, and other materials that will provide better care and improved health for the the Quisqueya community. Please consider providing your financial support to our campaign, by funding our purchases in favor of the improvements our global community desperately needs.
