Nov. 8 Travel to Florida
Donation protected
Since I have been eligible to vote, I have not missed a single election, not even the midterms. Florida's dysfunctional voting system has almost kept me from voting in this election. Please fund my campaign to travel back to Florida to make my vote count!
Here's my story...
I am living outside of my home state of almost a decade, Florida, for a year under a reduced salary. I made a point of submitting a request to "vote-by-mail" back in September, only to learn a week before the election that what appeared to be a confirmation email containing my desired ballot mailing address was not what it appeared to be. The email contained broken hyperlinks that supposedly indicated that my "voter affidavit" needed to be submitted. Mind you, I'm certain I completed all steps back in September, including the "voter affidavit."
At this point, I don't care whether this was a mistake or intentional. Could my situation be part of well-known and widespread disenfranchisment efforts to depress some votes (in Florida, we register our party affiliation) or could it be just a randomly broken email that happened to be missing the most pertinent "next steps?" Again, I don't really care about their possible motivation.
What I do care about is that I am certain I'm not the only one who's had this experience or something like it.
Friends, you have a chance here and now to support at least one Florida voter, me Areto Imoukhuede, in my effort to exercise my constitutional right to vote.
Thank you.
