This brother within our congregation is in need. He desires to pursue post-secondary education in a particular field, having prayed and confirmed this path, but he wants to avoid increased debt under the specific financial circumstances for himself and his family.
This Christian has served the body of Christ with great commitment and passion over many years within Hosanna and has been a God-sent blessing to my life and our church. Reading Chapter 4 in Acts, I am hoping we will remove his need and surpise this beloved brother with a fully paid semester of tuition, offered by loving brothers and sisters, to relieve some of his burdens, that we might pour out the love of our Lord, Jesus Christ, into his life.
It may seem naive and even short-sighted, but I pray that we would be like our God, who sent his only son to die for us, by his glorious grace and generosity. Our Saviour gives us what we do not earn or deserve, but with incredible mercy and love, he poured out his life unto death for unworthy sinners like you and me.
No one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common. And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold and laid it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need.
No pressure. Seriously. Do what your heart desires. And if you feel that the gospel message is directing you to give to this brother in Hosanna, then join me. May we LIVE this gospel and point only to our redeemer, Jesus Christ!
