#NotAgainSU DBLAC Support Fund

Hello DBLAC Fam,
We are writing this email to ask for your help - urgently. Today is Day 6, of the #NOTAGAINSU student protests at Syracuse University. This black student-led protest denounces the racial incidents that “are being swept under the rug by administration.” These students have been sitting inside of the Barnes Center for six days in protest and are in need of hot food, blankets, beverages, personal hygiene products, cleaning products, and medication.
With Lida and I both being graduate students we felt that alerting you all and asking for your assistance in such an urgent matter needed to be done in our own words. DBLAC was founded by two Black graduate students - turned faculty -who continue to use their resources to empower other Black graduate students. #NotAgainSU is Black student-led and thus we wholly feel it should be Black student-supported; specifically supported by DBLAC. Regardless of your status as a student, faculty, staff, or membership of DBLAC; help us assist our siblings at Syracuse.
We first ask that you spread the attached media - most created by these students on their social media pages (@notagain.su). Please state that you are in solidarity with the students at Syracuse and use the hashtag #NotAgainSU. Second we ask that if you are able, that you donate to our ongoing DBLAC #NotAgainSU support fund! We are working with our Syracuse liaisons to ensure that these funds are used to secure catering for the over 200 students and counting!
DBLAC Fam, we have the potential to empower these Black students and let them know that we hear them and we will do all we can to help them.
