Dear Colleagues and Friends,
Many of us lead blessed lives where we can complain about our first world problems knowing that the important stuff is taken care of.
When you're actually dealing with big things though, listening to someone complain about how their phone ran out of battery while they were watching a YouTube video about cats, or how the beer they're drinking is making their hand cold, well, that can be pretty hard.
So, I created this campaign so we can all continue complaining about our non problems knowing we're also helping someone through their real ones.
There are a number of campaigns where you can help someone raise money to save someone amazing, but this one also comes with the opportunity to complain about your most trivial problems without judgement!
Maybe you hate it when you're driving a big truck cuts you off and you can't see down the lane, or maybe the elevator was out of service and you felt out of breath walking up 2 flights of stairs. Now think about my friend John, and his beautiful wife, Joanna, that are dealing with the return of cancer that's spread to Joanna's eyes, lungs, liver, and bones.
Maybe you were at dinner this week and didn't realize the tip was already included in the price when you added a 15% tip on top. Now think about the $20,000 in medical bills John and Joanna need to cover to get access to a revolutionary new treatment that might save Joanna's life. If you have kids, maybe your kids left one of their toys on the floor and you stepped on it, and it hurt for 5 seconds. Now think about John and Joanna's kids, who may lose their mom.
You may not know John, but both he and Joanna are resiliant, strong, and giving people. If you do know John or Joanna, then you've more than likely already had them step up for you when you needed a hand with something. I have had the pleasure of working with John for the past year, and he has become like family to me. He's always there for me when help is needed, and I'm hoping you can help me be there for him now.
So bring me your most awesome #firstworldproblems, 'cause hey, they're problems too, just bring your donations with 'em, so we can make the real problems go away for some who needs our help.
If your life is perfect and you have nothing to complain about, then make a donation anyway and help spread the love. And if you're not in a position to help financially, then please share this as wide and as far to help John and Joanna.
