Not Made In China

Aussie Made = Aussie Jobs

Each time we go shopping, no matter what we are buying, almost every product has "Made in China" on the label. We are tired of seeing our manufacturing jobs being lost to China.

Imagine, if in the 1930s, our largest trading partner had been Nazi Germany. What a perilous situation Australia would have been in, at the start of World War II. Our economy would have collapsed, just as we were required to defend our country at war. How on earth did we get into the situation where communist China is our largest trading partner? Someone must have been asleep at the wheel.

"Not Made In China" is dedicated to promoting the small to medium manufacturing sector in Australia. To do this, we are creating an online catalogue of Australian made goods to support Aussie manufacturing and bring more jobs back to Australia.  Instead of sending our iron ore to China and then buying the value added steel back from that country, we should be smelting all of our own iron ore and making world standard steel, for export and domestic use.

We are raising funds to achieve the following:

Stage 1: A website search facility will be created to enable customers to source Australian made goods and their manufacturers. It will be freely available to all who wish to find Aussie made items.
Stage 2: For the use by Australian manufacturers, a database will be created, listing thousands of goods which are currently imported, showing statistics and information, enabling Aussie businesses to choose the most suitable items to produce here, as import replacements.
Stage 3: Our Kiwi friends across the ditch will be invited to join the project, creating a combined market of 30 million.
Stage 4: There will be a mentoring service, assisting small businesses to get on board with local manufacture, supported by high quality R&D. That is the key to developing a strong national economy.

It is a big project and we will be using professional software engineers to build the online database. We can get it done and bring Aussie jobs home, if we all chip in and help.

We would like to make it clear that we don't have anything against Chinese people. The citizens of China are victims of an oppressive dictatorship. It is the government of China that we don't wish to support.

NOT MADE IN CHINA. Let's do it Australia!

Your financial support to the campaign will enable us to get this project off the ground and start creating manufacturing jobs in Australia. Please give whatever you can manage. Every bit helps.
