Hello, I am Iva, owner of Affairs to Remember, a family owned and run, small event rental & planning business in Commerce Township, Michigan that I am working hard to keep afloat for the families of my 10 employees as well as my own family.
My vision for our company has always been to help people to create their vision of their dream event with the best service possible at the best prices possible. There have been a lot of long hours, 7 days per week including every weekend, and sweat equity put into building our business, but along with our dedicated staff providing outstanding customer service, Affairs to Remember has been proud to serve the people of the Greater Metro Detroit and surrounding areas, and all of Michigan, with our rental services such as linens, Chiavari chairs, farm tables, lighting, event planning and much more for over 20 years.
We applied for and received funds from the Payroll Protection Program (PPP) but those funds were stipulated to cover payroll and the funds from this program will be gone on 6/2/20, before we will even be able to reopen our business doing events. With this campaign we are hoping to raise funds to not only pay staff, but the ever mounting essentials that the 10% of PPP could be used for, such as the building's mortgage, lights, heat, air, and required insurance on the building, which fell short of our monthly expenses.
So the need to raise additional funds is critical since our industry has been decimated by Covid19. We have been following all of the Governor's orders and intend to continue, but so far there is no indication of when businesses in our category will be allowed to fully reopen or when group gatherings, such as weddings which are our primary business, may resume. Details such as how many may attend and any other potential stipulations are also unknown at this time.

I never thought I would ever be asking for help and it breaks my heart to due so now with so many of us in the same boat. It is very humbling to have to reach out like this so any support that we may receive from all of you is very humbling and means the world to us. We would be forever grateful to you for the smallest bit of financial help that you are able to give in getting us through this rough patch. With 10 wonderful, full-time employees depending on this business, all of whom are like family and without whom we would not exist, we will do everything we can for them to keep their livelihood going.
