Not enough money to buy a phone

I am currently a full time student who requires a phone.I dont have enough money to buy a new phone that will help me function .

I feel really bad asking for phone when the money can be used for more important causes.However, my phone its  last legs.It's broken and I can't afford another one.

I appreciate any help I may get.
