Northern California Firefighters Relief

People across the country are feeling the impact of multiple crises, including COVID-19, wildfires and extreme weather, and economic uncertainty. Among all, the recent wildfires in California are having severe impacts on individuals and small businesses, while pushing our firefighters to the wartime-like fields fighting against the fire day and night.
The figures are staggering. As of 9/17, more than 17,000 firefighters are battling 26 major fires in California alone, and more than 3.3 million acres have burnt across the state this year leaving behind 4,200 structure destroyed. More than half of all active fires in California are currently <50% contained.
The idea at Meal Forward is simple: Feed the firefighters who are tirelessly fighting the worst wildfire season ever recorded in California, while supporting local restaurants that are really hurting at this time.
Here’s how it works;
1. You donate. (Subject to tax exemption)
2. 100% of the fund received will be passed to the local restaurants.
3. The restaurants will prepare and deliver meals to the firefighters
We are working with Moraga-Orinda Fire District in the Bay Area and actively communicating with other fire departments who are fighting other fires like Creek Fire near Fresno, CA. Our past campaigns aimed at supporting communities impacted by COVID were immensely successful. Since March 2020, we have raised $77K+ and delivered 4100+ meals to 18+ organizations including hospitals, hunger programs, senior centers, etc. while helping 12+ restaurants
We have been able to do some very meaningful work to help our communities in need. As we extend our services to those who are fighting fires in California for our safety, please join us and help change somebody’s life in this dire situation.

Remarks 2) We use 100% of the fund raised to purchase meals from local restaurants and feed the firefighters. If the fire becomes contained before we use up all the funds, then we will repurpose the outstanding funds to feed the healthcare workers, who are still desperately fighting COVID-19.
