Foyle Wildlife Rescue

Foyle wildlife rescue is an independently ran wildlife hospital and rehabilitation unit in the heart of the city. We work closely with local vets to provide specialist treatment and care for sick, injured and orphaned wildlife. While most of the wildlife brought into our care comes directly from veterinary surgeries, many are brought here by members of the public. The animals cared for here are wide ranging from orphaned chicks, baby hedgehogs and bats throughout badgers, squirrels, water fowl and birds. We ensure that all animals brought here are released back into the wild in peak condition so they will thrive and be able to rejoin our local wildlife safely and with the promise of adding to our poor numbers. As you can imagine, ths requires a lot of equipment, vet trips out of hours and emergency surgeries. The bills are very high and it's all funded either out of our own pockets, or through donations from members of the public.  This money will be used to chip away at vet and equipment costs, and if all goes well, maybe even a new incubator for our intensive care unit.
