North Bay Adventure for all

NorthBay is an outdoor education camp that  offers an annual June trip for 6th graders at my school--Cross Country Elementary Middle (Baltimore Public Schools). The camp gives our studentsa chance to practice environmental science, as well as explore their own place in the world. It's an amazing cell-phone-free experience and, for many of our students, it's the first time they have spent an extended amount of time outdoors. It costs $230 for a week of new experiences. Unfortunately, that's more than many of our families can afford. This year, we are committed to taking as many students as possible. Our goal is to raise $13,800 and take 60 students from our school. We are hoping to be awarded a $4000 grant (but we won't hear until March), the families that are able will each contribute $75 towards the trip. But we still need $5300! Students have been brainstorming ways for our class to make money. We've sold snow cones and pizza. These sixth graders are willing to work for the experience but they would have to sell a lot of snow cones to reach our goal. We are going to keep working but would be extremely grateful to have some help. Please consider a donation to help make this experience possible for my students.
