Norah's Medical Trip

Norah is 3 years old. Born in August of 2014, she was quickly diagnosed with bilateral cataracts and had her first set of surgeries when she was barely a month old to have them, and her natural eye lenses, removed.
Since then, she has additionally developed glaucoma and is treated daily with eyedrops to maintain eye pressures. Further, within this past year, she has had further surgeries to have a growth removed from inside her right eye. This procedure could not be performed at the Children's Hospital in Halifax.
Now, that growth is returning. It could not originally be fully removed as it was attached to her cornea and this innocent, young, and very happy three-year-old is at risk of losing all vision in this eye.
To give her absolutely the best possible care and treatment, Norah and her parents must travel to Toronto in March of this year (2018) as their home province of Nova Scotia is not equipped for this. In Toronto, she will be undergoing a cornea transplant to fully, hopefully, remove this growth. As Nova Scotia is not equipped for this procedure, Norah and her parents must remain in Toronto for at least a month to be seen by the eyecare team for follow up appointments and to be nearby should a suture come out or there are signs of rejection.
As you can well imagine, the family is stressed but are in high spirits. Financially, this is very daunting. They have gone to extreme lengths to reduce costs as much as possible but the price tag, solely for a month's worth of accommodations, is shy of a staggering $5,000 for the month.
Any donations to help little Norah and her family to cover these expenses would be very greatly appreciated. This family believes in “Pay It Forward” and has, and will continue to do say, forward your generosity to others in need whenever they are able to do so.
