Pep Squad- Noosa Triathlon

Holly, Aisling and Annie will be competing in the Noosa Triathlon this November to raise money in aid of Aboriginal Legal Service (NSW/Act) Limited (ALS).

Based in Redfern, ALS was established in 1970 to combat injustice and offer legal assistance for Australia's First People.

Over-representation of Indigenous Australians in the criminal justice system is far too high. Despite only making up 3% of the Australian population, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people make up 28% of the adult-prison population.

Evidently, the consequences of colonisation are intergenerational and ongoing.

We are excited to raise money, which will provide the resources and representation necessary "to fight for the rights of Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islander peoples".

The Triathlon consists of a 1.5km Swim (Holly), followed by a 40km bike ride (Aisling) and finally a 10km run (Annie). We have commenced training and will endeavour to update our family and friends with photos of our progress.

Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause!
