Noor and Deborah Adabachi - Fire Survivors

See News Story of Noor and Deborah

On August 18, 2020,  Sonoma County asked Healdsburg residents to evacuate due to the Wall Fire spreading faster and a change in wind direction. Deborah and Noor had planned a quiet day to celebrate their wedding anniversary, but they have had to do this before  and know it is part of the life living among the redwoods in solitude.  They grabbed overnight bags, some important papers and electronics. They had no idea that when they returned to their beautiful 30 acre labor of love, it would be completely eviscerated by the fires. Their wedding chuppah transformed to a structural garden fixture;  desimated in the fire

When things could not get worse, there car was stolen the next morning from in front of their house.

Anyone who has been to Venado and experienced the immense hospitality that Noor and Deborah provide saw first hand the love, dreams and design of artistic community that they created. Whether you sat in the redwood circle, danced in the pavilion,  tended the garden, ate meals at the table Noor designed or soaked in the tub in the forest you were able to experience the magic of their creation.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:
We are immensely grateful that Deborah and Noor have a safe place to live in San Francisco, but they have lost their main source of income.
Although they have fire insurance, it will come nowhere close to covering the magnitude of this loss.

Noor lost all of his tools, tractor, truck and furniture design studio - his livelihood.

Deborah has recently been named Artistic Director of her theater company foolsFURY and is trying to keep events on track while managing this huge loss.

If you have the means to support Deborah and Noor and honor the loss of their beautiful home and artist community please contribute. We are hoping to support them over the next few months while they manage insurance, find a new car and take time to grieve this immense loss.

~May we be blessed and safe with our loved ones and may we extend our love, resources and compassion to my sister and brother in-law as  they grieve this painful and tragic loss~
