Noodle's Surgical Fund

Donation protected
My name is Anika and I have a sweet little rescued miniature dachshund named Noodle. She  became very ill last week, on December 12th. I brought her to a veterinary specialist, and after several expensive rounds of testing they discovered a bacterial infection in her bloodstream. This lead to abdominal sepsis - a very serious condition that can only possibly be solved with a costly exploratory surgery.

I was left with an extremely difficult decision to make: either take her home and try make her comfortable for her remaining days, or pay for a surgery that would cost thousands of dollars and may or may not be successful. Many would say a dog is not worth that kind of money, but Noodle is my best friend and anyone who has met her knows how special she is to me.

After many tears and a lot of heartache, we decided to take our chances with surgery. I was not ready to let her go. Luckily, the surgery was successful, but she had to stay in the post-op recovery wing for several days after, which raised the costs substantially. I was never prepared for something like this to happen so abruptly, but at this point I'm just happy she's alive.

I used a credit program to pay for everything outright, and have been given 6 months to pay the balance in full. This will be difficult for me as a recent college grad, and any help would be greatly appreciated at this time. The funds will go to covering the costs of the surgery, hospital stay, and medicine.
