Noodle's Cancer Treatment/Surgery

Donation protected
This is Noodle. This is a small part of her story. This is why we are creating this GoFundMe.

In  early July, Noodle lost her appetite and became consistently lethargic. She has a heart murmur, which immediately led me to believe the two were related. After repeated blood work, x-rays, medications ($250) and an additional consult with her cardiologist, her heart showed no changes. A few tests later, we are referred to VCA Mission for a consult with an Internalist. We started with an abdominal ultrasound and found an extremely enlarged spleen with swollen lympnodes. During the ultrasound they took samples to send out for cytology ($500). We started her on prednisone and Melpholan (chemotherapy) ($100). These results came back showing a malignant plasma cell tumor in her spleen and indicated the possibility of multiple myeloma. To determine the next step, we needed to do a bone marrow aspirate ($600) to find out if the plasma cells were isolated to her spleen, or spread throughout her blood. Fortunately, fortunately, fortunately the cytology did not show any. Our next step was a Splenectomy ($2400) right away. Noodle had her surgery today 8/23. I have already received a call from the amazing surgeon with the wonderful news that surgery went great. The rest of her organs looked good. While we are not sure if this is the end of the road of cancer for Noodle, we are awaiting biopsy results that will tell us a lot more. We do know however know that the chances of relapse are high. I will continue to post updates as I get them.
Earlier this year in March, Noodle required emergency while out of town in Las Vegas for a toe amptutation ($1000). During this visit is where we found Noodle to have a heart murmur significant enough to require a consult and echocardiogram with a Cardiologist ($530). I have since been working paying it off, but of course things just keep adding back on. In addition to these things, I went through some unforseen life changes that put me in a both a financial bind and took a serious toll on me emotionally. That's just how things go a lot of the time. I'm fortunate enough to have good credit so I was able to put this all on a credit card. However with Noodle's recent diagnosis, things have added up and it's just more than I can afford. I don't have the money for any of this. However there simply was no way I wasn't going to do absolutely everything I needed to do for the little love of my life. I have been so lucky to have perks working in the veterinary industry, but it only adds up so much. In the end, the thing that matters most is that Noodle is doing better, but asforementioned we are not out of the woods and there will be future aftercare that I'm not yet aware of. This is another reason for the GoFundMe, incase of future expenses such as complications or god forbid a relapse.

Noodle has brought me SO MUCH happiness in the last four years I've had with her. I have gone through things that I don't know how I possibly could have made through without her. I've been so lucky to have her as an emotional support animal and best friend.I need to be (at least mostly ;) free of these debts to continue to provide her (and of course the rest of my fur children) with the care she deserves.

Noodle is an Emotional Support Animal. She helps ease mom's anxiety disorder. Due to a severe phobia of airplanes, Noodle got to fly in mom's lap.

She had absolutely no issue crusing through the sky or walking through the busy airport.

Noodle also shared her support with Grace's dad after being hospitalized after a major heart attack.

Noodle's emotional support goes further than humans. She has a Chihuahua sister and friend who are very fearful dogs. However when they around Noodle, it is amazing to see their confidence shine and follow her whererever she goes.

What would mom do without these snuggles every night?

Noodle has made herself somewhat of a mascot at FMA Animal Hospital. She goes to work with mom every day and makes herself comfortable at the front desk. Her duties include  keeping things in line and getting admired by the clients.

She shares a very special bond with mom's best friend Emily and Emily's two Chihuahuas.

I so very much appreciate  your time taken to read Noodle's story. Any dollar donated or share with your friends would be so incredibly helpful and I will be forever grateful.
Love,
Grace, Noodle and fam <3
