NOMADS | United Seed Funding Campaign

Right now across the world, there are more than 1 billion neurodivergents languishing without human rights.  We aim to unite individuals and organizations in a collective advocacy and self-advocacy effort .

Who are neurodivergents?  They are your friends, family, and neighbours.  Often, you recognize them by the labels of sickness, disability and discrimination - ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, autism and others.  Never do you hear of these individuals described in positive terms because of their difference in traits.  We speak of disorder and disease, pathology and disability.

We know this is wrong.  Some are disabled, some are not.  That's missing the point - ALL are discriminated against.  Oppression, social injustice, lack of basic human rights and dignity.

Where is all of this happening?
All around us.  It is built into our societal systems and structures.  It is in the education, healthcare, government and all other forms of social institutions.  It creates barriers and lack of opportunity.  It places us on the edge of society, in the "OTHER" category.  And history shows us that most societies that dehumanize people as "other" commit many human atrocities.

Many of the social ills that organizations spend money and effort on are never fixed, and authorities cannot understand the problem.  It is because they are often the problem.  The abuse of power and privilege leads them to support blind followers, while those who speak out are considered radicals and rebels.  Yet, it is because they see the world as it truly is.  We need more neurodivergents speaking the truth to power in the days and years to come if we are going to survive and thrive as a human race.

To support this effort, we need individuals and organizations working arm in arm, collectively and collaboratively.  Not in just one country, but across the world.  This is the only way to have our voice heard, to be accepted and to have our rights as human beings acknowledged by the international and local communities.

Where The Funds Are Going
The funds will be invested as a seed investment in registering as a national non-profit with charitable status and supporting some of the basic administration and communications materials.

You can change the world for us, yourself and the generations to come.  Thank you for being a part of the neurodiversity movement.

Kindly,
Robert M Peacock
