Mission:
The Northampton Community Support Network is a safe place for a community that struggles with issues of homelessness, poverty, addiction, mental illness, and trauma who wish to work towards creating positive life change.
The Northampton Community Support Network is a program that emphasizes safety, recovery, dignity, fellowship, and social justice.
The Northampton Community Support Network is working towards bringing people in need of support and the services that offer that support closer together, building a stronger community that learns to become empowered to work towards positive life change, and creating a stronger community that works together to solve community issues.
WHO WE SERVE:
The Northampton Community Support Network serves the community of Northampton, Massachusetts and surrounding towns.
Our focus is on helping those suffering from challenges around addiction, mental health issues, homelessness, poverty, and/or trauma who want to experience a positive life change but struggle with recovery.
Being clean and sober it not a requirement for participation. However, wanting to work towards positive change is encouraged.
This is a designated space for safety and dignity. Therefore, all who attend are required to respect the space, the attendees, the staff, and themselves. Nobody present should behave in a way that is contrary to safety, respect and dignity.
CURRENT ACTIVITIES:
--Food and fellowship
– Life Success Support Group
– Community Issues Support Group
--Guest speakers
--Visits from representatives from other support agencies
--Winter Survival Support Group
AND IN THE FUTURE:
--Guided mindful meditation
--Yoga
--Writers groups
--Poetry readings
--Art therapy
--Open mic events for musicians
--And more…
Once we get our own space, we will be able to offer more programming. Right now we are given a space for three hours at the First Churches, which we greatly appreciate.
