Noah's Hope Fund - Autism Treatment

Donation protected
Born August 6th, 2009 Noah was diagnosed with Autism in January of 2012 at the age of 2. Now 5 1/2, he attends preschool 5 days a week for 3 hours. He also receives occupational and speech therapy twice a week. However, it's not enough.

The state of Nebraska ranks among the nation’s worst in support and treatment for Autism. The Munroe Meyer Institute is the only center in Nebraska that supports and treats those with Autism, the wait list for treatment and support spans years. Noah does not have that time...

Nebraska also does not require Insurance companies to cover Autism treatment. So even if Noah were to get treatment at Munroe Meyer our insurance doesn't cover it. A single day of therapy can cost $700! We are on a wait list for a grant to cover that cost, and that also is several years long. Again, Noah does not have that time as he needs more treatment now.

Noah was born in Michigan, and in 2010 we had to move to Nebraska to find work. Now here in 2015 we are now moving back to Michigan for Noah. Michigan ranks among the nation’s best in treatment and support for Autism.

This FundMe Page was created to help us get Noah started immediately for therapy in Michigan while also helping support our family during this move. We have no choice but to make the move to Michigan before my wife and I can even find work. It is imperative we move as soon as possible because the sooner Noah starts his therapy the better. The younger you are the more your brain absorbs that information and treatment. As Noah gets older the harder it will be for him to learn and understand to control and overcome his Autism.

So why are we doing this now? Because Noah needs more support and treatment now. He is regressing in several phases of his life. He's losing control of himself, he's screaming more, having meltdowns more, talking less, and now starting to harm himself by hitting himself in the head to the point where he will bruise. Pinch himself all over his body to the point where he will bleed.

His therapists all agree, he needs more treatment and support and Nebraska is not the place to be to get it...everyone is telling us to move, so move we must.

So I ask for your help, not only with your donations but by asking for your prayers and support. We need to do more to spread Autism Awareness. A family should not have to uproot and move simply because they can't the medical help, support, and treatment needed.

Peace, Love, and God Bless to you all
