Noah Reid 2021 Birthday Fundraiser for ESN Toronto

A year ago, we were all waiting for Gemini to drop, eager to celebrate Noah Reid's 33rd birthday and hear I Miss Writing Songs for the first time. While we were waiting and listening to the singles that would get us through to the release date, a lot of things in our lives were so uncertain. A lot of us didn't know how long this pandemic would last or how we would get though it. Many of us lost our jobs or had to move. Noah's music gave us a little company in that time, and now... just like that, here we are. A year later, things have changed - some even for the better! But for many of Toronto's most vulnerable residents, this isn't necessarily the case.
The Encampment Support Network (ESN) is an ad-hoc, volunteer-run network supporting people living in encampments in six locations throughout Toronto. Now more than ever, people living in encampments are under threat due to governmental oppression and the still-looming public health crisis. ESN is working hard to keep these residents from losing everything they have and keeping them safe during this time. In recent weeks especially, our favorite guy has been working to bring awareness to this network, so what better way could we tell him "Happy birthday" than by supporting an organization that is clearly so dear to his heart?
Of course, many of us are still going through a difficult time right now, so if you cannot give to this cause, there are other ways you can help. Please share this fundraiser - even outside the fandom! Tell your friends and family about this network and all the incredible work they are doing.
