My name is Djamel and I’m A French chef from Lyon who has lived in London since 2009.

I’ve always enjoyed cooking. I learned a lot in London which is for me the best place to learn more about cooking tasty food. London is a cosmopolitan city with tons of amazing food from all around the world. The mixtures of all this food culture have brought so many interesting new dishes into this world and I’m trying to share some of them via my social media.

I’m setting up a “gofundme” as I have been always ashamed by the waste of food in restaurants which comes from staff mistakes ( and everyone can make mistakes so no one is to blame here ) but also over ordering food which happens a lot. So many different factors can affect restaurants such as weather, events, days of the week and many more. Everywhere I work I always tried to give food to charities or people in need which was good but not enough.

Today I would love to open a restaurant with as little waste as possible by giving food to people in need every day but also giving a % of our sales to help people in poor countries. This money will help to send needed products but also to build in the near future a free restaurant for people in countries where eating every day is not an option. I will share some of my favorite dishes all along this journey with you and hopefully raise enough to really start this project. I have been a chef and cook in some amazing places in England and Australia but every time I have been on holidays I always spotted starving people. I don’t think that my idea will save the world but I assume that more chefs will try and start doing the same thing: to avoid food waste and share their amazing skills with people in need.

Je m’appelle Djamel et je suis un chef français venant de Lyon. Je vis à Londres depuis 2009 et j’ai toujours été passionné par la cuisine. J’ai beaucoup appris à Londres qui est pour moi le meilleur endroit pour se perfectionner à la gastronomie. Londres est une ville cosmopolite où l’on trouve toutes les cultures culinaires dont le mélange a apporté de nouvelles saveurs que j’essaie de partager via les réseaux sociaux. Je souhaite démarrer une campagne via « GoFundMe » car je suis impliqué dans la lutte contre la gaspillage alimentaire dans les restaurants. J’ai toujours essayé d’envoyer de la nourriture aux Associations ou aux personnes dans le besoin. Aujourd’hui je voudrais ouvrir un restaurant avec une gestion responsable qui donnera les restes aux personnes dans le besoin chaque jour et fera des dons réguliers aux associations.
 
Cet argent servira à fournir des produits de 1ère nécessité mais aussi à construire un restaurant gratuit dans les pays où l’accès à la nourriture pour tous est difficile.
 

Je partagerai mes plats favoris tout le long de la journée et j’espère collecter suffisamment pour démarrer le projet. J’ai été chef et ai cuisiné dans de nombreux endroits réputés en Angleterre et Australie et dispose aujourd’hui du recul nécessaire à la mise en œuvre du projet.
