No Room at the Inn on Xmas Eve for Pregnant Dog

Donation protected
A pregnant emaciated stray pitbull arrived at my house on Xmas Eve morning. She had no collar, tags, or microchip and has a back leg that was broken but never fixed. Her ears have been cut down to nubs. She has been treated shabbily but is still very sweet. A pregnant dog with no place to stay reminded me of Mary and Joseph's story so I named her Mary. I took her to emergency vet after she didn't have more pups where she had 2 more pups . Unfortunately one had a cleft palate and died. I brought her back to my house around 4 in the afternoon Xmas Eve. No more puppies even though x ray showed she had 3 more. Back to emergency vet at 8:00 pm, where they gave her 2 shots of oxytocin which produced a dead pup. Vet said last 2 remaining pups are probably dead and she needs a C section to remove them if she didn't have them by Thursday
morning. So I came home at 3:00 a.m. Xmas morning with a pitbull mom and 2 puppies. I woke Xmas morning to a dead puppy so back to the emergency vet yet again at 8:00 a.m.. Another 2 shots of oxytocin with no results so we left at 1:00 PM. But Mary had her last pup also dead that night. The vet bill was $450.00.  Mary also needs to have her shots and be spayed once the pups are weaned and possibly will need surgery on her rear leg.
