No Ordinary Foster Child

Liz Sutherland grew up with no identity. She has no memory of the first few years of her life, other than the jarring experience of being dropped off at a stranger’s house when she was 5. Liz and her two siblings lived with their grandmother. Sadly, in a home where love and kindess should've been the norm, the children suffered abuse and neglect. When she finally escaped that life, Liz was thrust into the foster care system; living in between 10-12 different foster placements and 3 different schools between the ages of 13-18. On the day she turned 18, she aged out of foster care and was put out on her own with no support resources.

Demonstrating remarkable resilience, she graduated from Western Carolina University with her degrees in Computer Information Systems & Criminal Justice. She works for PwC in Tampa, has her own blog, and resides in St Petersburg. She was featured in the book "Growing Up In The Care of Strangers" and is soon to release her own book, "No Ordinary Liz."

She's writing her story, "No Ordinary Liz" to encourage other foster youth to live the life they deserve.

Please help support Liz's dream of publishing her book.  With your help, it will be released May 2018.
