My mom, Karen Hiatt, suffered from a stroke on 4/25/2020. She is recovering in Lincoln right now and because of the pandemic she is unable to have any visitors unless her status turns to ‘life ending’. Also, because of the pandemic and restrictions on being around people our whole family is having to deal with this pretty much in isolation. We all feel so unsettled and helpless. Raising some money to help my parents during this unprecedented time is something I thought of. My parents are both retired and what I would consider able to live fairly comfortably but this is going to shake them as it would anybody. I understand with where the world is right now that money is something some people are struggling with a great deal but it’s a way for us to help my parents not have to fight alone. No one should have to fight anything alone. We’re all in this together even when we have to be apart.
