NO MORE FAKE SMILES - child abuse relief 2020

NO MORE FAKE SMILES is a not-for-profit organisation established by Annie and her mother Tracey four years after Annie found her voice and felt strong enough to speak out about the sexual abuse, she had endured for two years from her stepfather.  NO MORE FAKE SMILES is being launched initially as a website, a place where child victims of abuse and those who are supporting them can access resources, to support themselves, a friend or child in a time of need. With the love and support of her mum, Annie spoke out. Determined not to let the abuser have the upper hand any longer, and following a three-year criminal process, her abuser was sentenced to 17 years in prison. Annie is still on a journey of healing and finding her true smile once again, helping others has become her passion. The Board of NO MORE FAKE SMILES are compelled to provide a platform to ensure children feel safe to speak out and find their true smile once again. The launch on 5 September 2019 coincides with Child Protection Week and the event will gather together members of the Sunshine Coast community including businesses, government representatives, local media, child protection advocates, psychologists, school principals and counselors.  

HOW CAN YOU HELP
Your donation will help start the NMFS Mental Health Program - providing practical financial support to victims of child abuse and their families to pursue appropriate recovery therapies of choice to relieve some of the financial burden for therapies that are only partially or not covered by Medicare or Private Health Insurance.
